Eligibility for Dependent Benefits
To qualify for these benefits, you must be the child or spouse of:
A Veteran who is permanently and totally disabled due to a service-connected disability.
A Veteran who passed away from any cause while rated as disabled due to a service-related condition.
A service member who is missing in action or captured by a hostile force.
A service member who was detained or interned by a foreign government or power.
A service member undergoing treatment for a service-related disability and expected to be discharged.
Educational Opportunities
Dependents and survivors of Veterans may be eligible for educational benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs under Chapter 35, including the Post-9/11 GI Bill®.
